Clouds have returned; unsettled weather next week

Low 70s were felt across the Coachella Valley this afternoon. Hope you took advantage of the warmth because a cooldown commences tomorrow!

The reason for the cooling will be a trough of low pressure nearing the west coast. It's already bringing rain and snow to the Pacific Northwest but the desert will stay dry into the weekend.

As the trough moves inland, more clouds will stream overhead and the mercury will drop into the 60s. On Sunday, the placement of the low pressure will create gusty south winds in the desert.

Dry for the weekend but rain chances begin Sunday evening and become more likely on Monday. Get those umbrellas ready!

Impact in the Coachella Valley is going to be minimal but there will be some accumulation, less than a quarter of an inch for the first round on Monday.
