Firefighters battle vegetation fire in Beaumont

Firefighters were battling a vegetation fire in Beaumont Saturday afternoon.

The blaze was first reported on Lambs Canyon Road and Dumps Road shortly after 2 p.m., according to CalFire’s Melody Hendrickson.

By 5 p.m., the fire had charred about 30 acres and was 30 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.

There were 124 firefighters battling the blaze, and it was unclear if
lightning reported in the region caused the fire, Hendrickson said.
