Falling gas prices come to a halt

The 36-day downward slide of decreasing gas prices in Riverside County came to screeching halt today when the average price of self-serve regular gasoline remained unchanged at $3.84 cents.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties decreased 85 cents during the streak, including four-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, after rising 52.4 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.688 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The streak was the longest since a 52-day streak that ended on July 13.

The average price is 8.6 cents less than one week ago and 80.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 1.4 cents more than one year ago.
