Light fixture catches fire at Palm Springs school
Palm Springs Fire says that a small electrical fire in the Raymond Cree Middle School gym is out.
The fire was reported just before 2:30 Monday afternoon by school personnel.
Fire crews said when they arrived on scene, a light fixture in the gym was the source of the fire but it was extinguished by the school’s sprinkler system before they arrived.
Most students had went home for the day, but some on campus were moved to safety while crews investigated the source of the fire.
No word on how much damage was done, but we are told it is minimal.
