Cathedral City man arrested on suspicion of Rancho Mirage burglaries

A Cathedral City man who allegedly posed as a landscaper in a Rancho Mirage gated community has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in two burglaries.
Police arrested 21-year-old Robert Newton Wednesday after serving a search warrant at a home on San Ardo Avenue in Cathedral City.
Officers say they found several stolen items from the burglaries on Monday.
Neighbors told police that before the burglaries they saw Newton going door to door asking homeowners if they needed yard work done.
Newton now faces several charges, including burglary and possessing stolen property.
