Hollywood comes to Palm Springs

Actors, directors and a composer are honored at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala Saturday night.

Mychael Danna and the cast of “Argo” attended the star studded event.

Award presenters include Tom Hanks, director Ang Lee and Diane Lane. A total of 180 films from 68 countries are being shown during the festival, which opened Thursday night and will conclude on Jan. 13.

The festival will also include forums with directors, actors and entertainment journalists, a student screening day and a free screening.
