Say what? Inland Empire gasoline prices again rise sharply

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline rose 3.8 cents in the Inland Empire today, the steepest jump since Oct. 7, hitting $3.805, the highest price since Nov. 17.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has increased five of the last six days, including a hefty 3.7 cents Wednesday. It is now 10.3 cents more than one week ago, 22 cents higher than one month ago and 4.2
cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The increases stem from low supplies as refineries head into their maintenance cycles and follows last week’s 50 cent per gallon increase in the cost of wholesale gasoline, according to Marie Montgomery Nordhues of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
