DUI checkpoints tonight in Palm Springs and La Quinta
Local law enforcement agencies will operate DUI anddriver’s license checkpoints tonight at undisclosed locations in Palm Springsand La Quinta.
The Palm Springs checkpoint will operate from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. andthe La Quinta checkpoint will go from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The checkpoints are aimed at reducing the number of people killed orinjured on local roads by people driving under the influence of alcohol anddrugs, according to authorities.
The checkpoints are funded by grants from the California Office ofTraffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
