Palm Desert DUI checkpoint leads to 13 arrests

Four motorists were arrested on suspicion of drivingunder the influence of alcohol or drugs during an overnight driver’slicense/sobriety checkpoint in Palm Desert, the Riverside County Sheriff’sDepartment said today.

One of those drivers had an active warrant for a previous driving underthe influence conviction, according to a department statement.

Nine motorists were arrested for driving while unlicensed or onsuspended license and five vehicles were towed during the checkpoint on Highway111, west of Plaza Way that began at 7 p.m. Saturday and ended today at 3 a.m.,according to the statement.
