Desert Chiefs announce home field

A new era of football in the desert now has a home for the 2013 season. The Desert Chiefs will play their home games at Shadow Hills High School for the 2013 season, Owner Rosie Welmas announced today.

The Chiefs are the newest team of the California Football Alliance League that includes teams from across Southern California and even Las Vegas. They play a 10-game regular season that begins in August and runs through October. 5 of those games will be at Shadow Hills High School. Playoffs begin in November and the Championship Game is November 16th.

Plans for permanent home facility are under way on the corner of 44th and Golf Center Parkway in Indio and should be completed within the next year or two.

Welmas said she would like to thank Ron Shipley (Athletic Director/Head Football Coach), Marcus Wood (Principal) and David Gustafson (assistant Principal) of Shadow Hills for making this possible.
