Crash in Indio sends multiple people to hospital
Three people were injured — one of them seriously — in atwo-vehicle crash today in Indio.
The crash was reported about 6 a.m. near Fred Waring Drive and JeffersonStreet. Both vehicles, a Toyota Corolla and a Jeep Cherokee, had major damageand the driver of the Corolla had to be cut out of the wreckage, according tothe Indio Police Department.
Both drivers, along with a passenger in the Toyota, were taken to localhospitals.
It was unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, accordingto police.Fred Waring east of Jefferson was closed for several hours for the crashinvestigation and clean-up.
