Check out the Palm Springs plane depicted in Disney’s “Planes”

Coachella Valley residents and visitors can checkout one of the planes depicted in the new Disney movie “Planes” tomorrow atthe Palm Springs Air Museum.

The F4U Corsair will be on display at 1 p.m. Saturday as part of themuseum’s “Open Cockpit” events, in which people can sit in the plane’scockpit and pose for photos.

The character Skipper in “Planes,” which opens today, is a Corsair.Disney recorded engine sounds from one of the museum’s planes for Skipper’sengine noise, according to the museum.

During “Open Cockpit,” museum patrons can watch documentariesfeaturing the particular aircraft, and ask museum volunteers questions. “OpenCockpit” is free with museum admission.
