Boris Karloff Month gets underway at Rancho Mirage Public Library
The classic 1931 horror film “Frankenstein” will be shown today to inaugurate Boris Karloff Month at the Rancho Mirage Public Library.
The film, directed by James Whale, made Karloff a star and is still well regarded by critics. It will be shown at 2 p.m. in the library’s community room.
At 7 p.m. Tuesday, arts journalist Stacy Davies will interview Karloff’s daughter Sara, and 1935 film “Bride of Frankenstein” will be shown afterward. “The Mummy,” made in 1932, will be shown at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Additionally, Karloff memorabilia will be on display in the library’s Annenberg Reading Room until the end of the month.
