Humana Challenge ticket kick off held today in La Quinta and Rancho Mirage

The Humana Challenge golf tournament will stage a “Ticket Kick-Off” event held Friday at two Lumpy’s golf stores in the Coachella Valley.

People can win tickets, golf merchandise and buy discounted tournament tickets from 1 to 6 p.m. at 72-769 Dinah Shore Drive in Rancho Mirage and 46-630 Washington St. in La Quinta, according to tournament organizers.

Those who play a golf simulator game can win one-day tickets to Club 17, a seating area that overlooks par-3 and includes televisions and reserved parking at the Arnold Palmer Private Course at PGA West.

“We invite fans to come down, enjoy the day and get their tickets early for the Humana Challenge,” said Bob Marra, the tournament’s executive director and CEO.

Lumpy’s will sell tickets through tournament week, scheduled for Jan. 13-19 at PGA West’s Palmer and Nicklaus courses and La Quinta Country Club.

Humana, a health insurance provider based in Kentucky, co-sponsors the tournament which was called the Bob Hope Classic from 1965 to 2011, with the Clinton Foundation to raise money for Coachella Valley charities, primarily the Eisenhower Medical Center. The field includes PGA Tour professionals and amateurs.

Daily and weekly tickets, Pro-Am positions and hospitality packages are also on sale at www.humanachallenge.com or by calling (760) 346-8184.
