McCormick’s Classic Car Auction rolls into town

The three-day, twice-yearly McCormick’s Classic Car Auction begins Friday in downtown Palm Springs.

More than 540 classic, moderately-priced, and famous cars will line up at the Spa Resort Casino for the auction.

Some cars previously owned by celebrities include Green Day rocker Billy Joel Armstrong’s 1972 BMW 2002 Tii and a red 1968 Camaro owned by Kortney Kardashian’s baby’s father, Scott Disick.

Thousands of car enthusiasts from all over the world attend the event. President Keith McCormick says the auction keeps growing as the years go on, and so does the fan base.

“The baby boomers have sunk their cash into these collector cars,” says McCormick. “They are the people that didn’t borrow the money from mortgages, and they are making a true killing now if they want to turn those cars into cash.”

Friday is free all day, Saturday & Sunday is $15 per day or $25 for both days.
