Hoping to prevent another school year from being upended by the pandemic, President Joe Biden visited a Washington middle school Friday to promote his new plan to require vaccinations for up to 100 million Americans. In remarks at Brookland Middle School, he said that with shots and regular virus testing, schools should be safe. But with the surging COVID-19 delta variant, it’s unclear whether Biden’s plan goes far enough to prevent mass disruption. Among the greatest threats to his plan is the large population of children still too young to get the shot. Biden also lashed out at some Republican governors who opposed his plan.
