Wind Advisory in effect for the Coachella Valley and mountain areas

Continuing strong onshore flow will bring gusty winds to the mountains and deserts through Thursday evening. Gusts could reach 60 mph in the wind prone areas. Strong gusts will likely stay confined to areas along and north of I-10, becoming more widespread in the early afternoon. Areas south of I-10 could see gusts up to 35-40 mph, blowing dust and sand could create low visibility at times.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Coachella Valley and the area mountains until 10 p.m. Thursday evening.

.A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH MOVING ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST WILL CONTINUE
TO BRING STRONG WESTERLY WINDS TO THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS
TODAY…BUT NOT AS STRONG AS THEY WERE WEDNESDAY. AREAS OF
BLOWING DUST AND SAND IS STILL LIKELY IN THE DESERTS…BUT IT WILL
NOT BE AS WIDESPREAD AS ON WEDNESDAY. WINDS WILL DECREASE THIS
EVENING.
