Hwy. 111 reopens after SUV collides with street sweeper

Highway 111 has reopened to westbound traffic at Frank Sinatra after an SUV collided with a street sweeper early Friday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the wreck at 6:15 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters extracted one person in the street sweeper. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Firefighters say the person in the SUV suffered major injuries. He was also transported to the hospital.

Police advised drivers to take Gerald Ford Drive as an alternate route while they cleared the accident from the highway.
