Officer-involved Shooting in Coachella
UPDATE: At approximately 9:15 p.m. Coachella police responded to the 84500 block of Avenue 52 regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say they responded and found a female who had suffered two stab wounds. The female was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Officers say they continued the investigation, and at around 10:20 p.m. they responded to the 84700 block of Avenue 52 — where an officer-involved shooting occurred with a male suspect.
The male suspect did sustain injuries, though the extent of those injuries is unknown at this time. The suspect was taken to the hospital and his condition is unknown.
Authorities say no officers were injured as a result of these incidences.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. Investigators should be on site through the morning. No road closures to report.
