Desert Daze music festival returns to Mecca

Stage coach isn’t the only music festival in town this weekend.

Desert Daze is back in Mecca for the second consecutive year and the third consecutive year in the Coachella Valley.

The lesser known one day festival takes place tomorrow at the Sunset Ranch Oasis in Mecca, off South Lincoln near Avenue 66.

Festival director Phil Pirrone says if you like listening to music outside, and don’t like dealing with the massive crowds, this might be the festival for you.

“It’s a bunch of musicians and artists who decided to build their own festival,” Pirrone tells us, “and the people that built the backdrops are also the ones on stage and the ones on walkie talkies running the event. It’s a pretty special group of people that are the hardest working group of people I ever met, and if you can, come out and see what we built this weekend.”

The line up boasts more than 30 artists on 3 stages, more well known acts include Vincent Gallo, DIIV, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

One day tickets are 45 dollars and are still available on the festival website. To purchase tickets and for more information head to desertdaze.org
