Suspects arrested after police find $30K worth of stolen property

Two men and a juvenile have been arrested in connection to multiple burglaries that occurred in the Pinyon Pines area on Wednesday.

Jose Ulloi, an 18 year old from Desert Hot Springs, and 18-year-old Aaron Schoolfield, also of Desert Hot Springs, were taken into custody on Thursday, according to the sheriff’s department.

The Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit was investigating after victim’s reported stolen property from their homes. Stolen items included firearms, ammunition, electronics, jewelry and a Chevrolet truck, police reported.

Information led police to the 13000 block of Via Real in Desert Hot Springs. Officers saw a camper shell belonging to the victim’s stolen truck in the front yard of the suspect’s home. They said they also found another victim’s check book.

Police served a search warrant at the home and found additional stolen property. They also found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. All items were seized.

The stolen property was linked to all three home burglaries. Officers found the stolen Chevy Silverado in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center.

Officers had to chase two of the suspects on foot while making the arrests. Police said one of the suspects threw a loaded gun into a person’s backyard, while the second suspect ran into a business and tried to hide a firearm under clothes that were for sale.

Police recovered both guns and the stolen truck.

Through the investigation, officers recovered four firearms, ammunition, jewelry, electronics, computers, personal checks, travelers checks, personal property and the truck. Officers said the estimated value of all the stolen property is $30,000.

Jose Ulloi was arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Officers said Aaron Schoolfield was on parole at the time of his arrest. He’s charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, resisting arrest, and violation of parole.

A 17 year old from Desert Hot Springs was also arrested and is being charged with an outstanding felony arrest warrant for burglary, possession of stolen property and weapons possession violations.

Police said Ulloi and Schoolfield were booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio, and the juvenile was taken to the Riverside County Juvenile Hall.
