Campaign canvassing meets Trick-or-Treating
The kids have wrapped up trick or treating, but the adults are still out in costume and enjoying the holiday.
A group of people had ulterior motives this Halloween, using the holiday to urge people to get out to vote this Tuesday.
“I’m dressed in a costume we want to make sure that it’s fun for young people. That it’s fun for the community,” says Esperanza Navarro, Advocacy Coordinator for Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest.
Volunteers are going door to do canvassing in costume. Trying to drum up support for candidates approved by Planned Parenthood.
“Unfortunately our numbers show that folks have not been mailing their ballots so we are hoping that maybe they’re just saving it and they are going to drop it off at their polling place this November 4th or actually any polling place,” says Navarro.
They are still looking for volunteers to work phone banks on Monday and Tuesday. If you would like to help Planned Parenthood call 957-222-3121 for details.
