Injured Hiker Rescued
On Saturday at approximately 2:15pm, Palm Springs Police Department received a call from a hiker who was experiencing medical problems while hiking on the Lyyken Trailhead.
Multiple agencies responded, including the Palm Springs Police Department, Palm Springs Police Department Mounted Search and Rescue Unit, Palm Springs Fire Department and AMR paramedics. Members of the Palm Springs Fire Dept. and Palm Springs Mounted Search and Rescue Unit hiked the trail, located the injured hiker, and rendered first aid.
The hiker, a 21 year male and local resident, was escorted to the bottom of the trail where he was then transported to a local hospital for additional medical treatment.
