Sleeping resident nearly struck after shots fired in Coachella

A person sleeping in their Coachella home was nearly shot early Wednesday morning after someone fired several shots in the area of 85300 Valley Road, according to police.

The Coachella Police Department was called around 12:30 a.m. and officers found a vehicle parked on Valley Road that had been struck by bullets. While searching the area, officers discovered one bullet actually entered a home near the vehicle.

Fortunately, the sleeping resident inside the home wasn’t injured in the shooting, according to police.

Investigators with the Thermal Station are investigating. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Investigator Chad Martin at 760-863-8990.
