A Look at the 75th Performing Season of the Great Y Circus

The acrobats, trapeze acts, tightrope walkers, jugglers and unicyclists… who doesn’t love the circus?

Lucky for you the circus is back.

Photojournalist Chris Tarpening gives us a look inside the Great Y Circus in Redlands California… the oldest community circus in the world and celebrating its 75th performing season.

Circus Director Tanner Greenhalgh says “We are so excited about the 75th show because we’re using that as part of our theme.
Our theme this year is a circus legacy, and we are taking our past acts, past photos and past costumes and bringing them back to life through a decade performance.”

Kids from the age of one to seventy participate in the circus providing a safe family activity. This circus family is a unique experience that provides a great training ground for circus performers and acrobats. The Great Y Circus was formed in 1929 and is celebrating its 75th performing season.
