Small plane makes emergency landing on La Quinta golf course

Authorities said a small plane was forced to make an emergency landing at the Mountain View Country Club golf course in La Quinta Friday afternoon.

Deputy Armando Munoz with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the aircraft was one of the planes that carries banners around Coachella Fest. The pilot was the only one on board and no injuries were reported.

The golf course is located off of efferson Street and Pomelo Verano Drive.

Deputy Munoz said it appears the plane had mechanical failures. It ended upside down on the golf course.
