Police search for Rancho Mirage armed robbery suspect

Police are searching for an armed robber who held up a man and woman in Rancho Mirage Saturday.

It happened before 4:15 a.m. on the 34100 block of Rebecca Way, said Sergeant Radek Horkel, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The two victims parked their car on the street adjacent to an apartment complex. Horkel says an adult man, wearing dark clothing, approached the victims. The suspect flashed an unidentified weapon, and demanded the victims possessions. After getting what he demanded, the suspect ordered the victims to walk away.

Police did not release any details about the items taken.

The victims flagged downan officer from the Cathedral City Police Department. Rancho Mirage Police Officers responded to the area and conducted an extensive search.Authorities were unable to locate the suspect.

No one was hurt.
