Desert Hot Springs man dies after being hit by car
UPDATE: We have learned that the pedestrian hit Friday night in Desert Hot Springs has died from his injuries.
Police say 67-year-old Ricardo Valdez died about 30 minutes after being hit by a car on Palm Drive.
His family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses.

A pedestrian is in serious condition after being hit by a car in Desert Hot Springs.
It happened just after 8:00 p.m. Friday night on Palm Drive at Camino Idilionear Dillon Road.
Police say the pedestrian was in the street in a very dark area and the driver didn’t see the pedestrian.
It’s unclear if he was crossing the road or walking in it.
The driver stopped and is cooperating with police. No charges will be filed.
