Morning fire chars home in Desert Hot Springs

A fire charred a house in Desert Hot Springs Sunday, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

It was reported at 7:46 a.m. in the 66400 block of 3rd Street.

Twenty-four firefighters arrived at the scene and were able to contain the fire to three rooms within 20 minutes, according to the department.

Nobody was injured, but the residents of the house were displaced, according to the department.

No word on what caused the fire.
