Police identify woman in suspicious death investigation

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department has identified the woman whose body was found in Desert Hot Springs Sunday morning. Now, police are calling her death suspicious and the investigation has shifted because the cause of death is still pending.

According to police, 28-year-old Stephanie Corrine Dixon’s body was found at 7:47 a.m. in the area of Mission Creek Road, just west of Indian Avenue. Her last known address was in Morongo Valley.

Dixon’s cause of death is still under investigation by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 is tracking the progress of the case and we’ll report updated information as soon as it’s available.
