DHS police seek info after man approaches young kids

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department is looking for information after a 9-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl were approached by a stranger on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, a Caucasian man, estimated to be between 40 to 50 years old, was driving a white pickup truck when he pulled in front of the children’s home in the 13600 block of Verbena Drive at about 4:30 p.m.

The brother and sister told police the man had circled the area several times in his truck before stopping at their home. Officers said the children ran up to the man’s truck and he gave them each silver dollar coins.

The siblings told police the suspect is bald with a black and gray goatee. He was wearing a white tank top and had tattoos on both arms.

His truck was described as an older model pickup with black writing on the side and a grill guard. He was last seen leaving the area towards Ironwood Drive.
