All power restored for IID customers in La Quinta

The Imperial Irrigation District has restored power in La Quinta after an outage affected 17,347 customers Wednesday afternoon. The general location of the outage was north of Highway 111 to south of Avenue 60.

Officials said the transmission line that feeds three substations in La Quinta, North La Quinta, and the Marshall station, also in La Quinta, went down at 1:57 p.m.

An IID crew had to reroute the lines and was able to restore power to the affected areas by 3:45 p.m., according to utility officials.

Viewers contacted our newsroom when the outage first occurred. Several businesses along Highway 111, including Walmart and McDonald’s, lost power in the area.
