Car hits two pedestrians in Palm Springs
Three people are in the hospital after a car hit two pedestrians in Palm Springs Sunday morning.
Palm Springs police said the crash happened just after 9 a.m. on east Tahquitz Canyon Way near the intersection of Indian Canyon Drive. When officers arrived on scene they discovered the woman driving the car hit a palm tree, fire hydrant and two people.
The driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The pedestrians, a man and a woman, suffered non life-threatening injuries and were also transported to the hospital.
Police said all westbound lanes of east Tahquitz from Avenida Cabelleros to Calle Alvarado are back open after they were closed for several hours during the investigation.
It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
