Officers arrest man after finding meth in stolen car

The Palm Springs Police Department recently found an unoccupied car that was stolen in January, and officers said there was a substantial amount of methamphetamine left inside the vehicle.

The investigation into the stolen car led officers to the suspect, 48-year-old Brian Todd White of Palm Springs.

Officers said the Toyota Camry was stolen on January 24 near Southridge Drive and East Palm Canyon Way, and a patrolling officer spotted the car on February 16 in the 1700 block of Vista Chino.

Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit took over the followup investigation and arrested White on March 1. He was taken into custody in the 300 block of Marble Lane in Palm Springs.

White is facing felony charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine and violating his post release community supervision.

White was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. He’s due in court at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Thursday, March 3.
