Weather causes problems across the Valley

UPDATE 9:55 p.m.Power has been restored to all but roughly two dozen SCE customers in Desert Hot Springs, and all roads that were closed related to weather have re-opened.

UPDATE 8:15 p.m. Southern California Edison is reporting more than 2300 customers are without power near N. Indian Canyon and 14th Avenue in unincorporated Riverside County near Desert Hot Springs. Another 1449 customers near Dillon Road and Long Canyon Road are also without electricity after high winds knocked down power lines at Palm Drive and Dillon. Crews are working to restore power at both locations.

Wind and rain in the Valley causing a number of problems here in the Valley.

Wind shut down Gene Autry in Palm Springs between Via Escuela and the I-10 for a couple of hours, it is back open.

A burst of rain has flooded two lanes of the I-10 on the Eastbound side just west of Morongo Trail.

In Desert Hot Springs heavy wind knocked power lines down shutting down Palm Drive between Two Bunch Palms and Dillon. The road reopened just before 8:15 p.m.

On the Westbound I-10 just West of Date Palm a Big Rig was pushed sideways by the wind snarling traffic for a short time.

Tennis play at the BNP in Indian Wells was suspended for about 20 minutes due to the weather.
