Morongo Valley man arrested for rock attack

A Morongo Valley man was taken into custody Saturday accused of assaulting a woman and another man who had come to her aid.

San Bernardino County Sheriffs Deputies arrested Bobbie Lowery, 33, early Saturday afternoon inside a trailer where he lived on the 51800 Block fo Panorama Drive in Morongo Valley.

Deputies said Lowery had been involved in a physical fight with a woman on the same Panorama Drive property and had became angry and aggressive towards her.

Deputies said Lowery threw the woman to the ground and threw a rock at her, hitting her in the head.

The attack caused a cut on the back of the woman’s head and other minor injuries.

Investigators said Lowery then got on top of her, on the ground, picked up a larger rock and had raised it up to hit her in the head with it.

That’s when another man ran to the woman’s aid.

Deputies said Lowery diverted his attention away from the woman instead hitting the second man in the arms with the large rock causing puncture wounds and bleeding.

Lowery then ran to his trailer on the property where Deputies later located him and took him into custody without incident.

Neither of the two apparent victims requested medical aid.

Bobbie Lowery was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
