Several search crews have been coming the mountain community for days in search of her. The Sheriff’s Department is using any and all resources, including air support, ground teams and bloodhounds but so far have been unable to her.

Youssef stands 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighs approximately 165 pounds, with short gray hair, brown eyes. According to Youssef’s family she suffers from dementia and only speaks in Arabic.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is bringing in deputies that know the language to aid in the search.

Conditions in the area are treacherous for search and rescue crews. There are large boulders, steep grades, cactus and potentially dangerous wildlife.

“We have seen a lot of animals and a lot of snakes. With large boulders and the hills, the terrain is by far very rugged,” said Lt. Evan Peterson with RCSD.

Anyone with information regarding Josephene Youssef’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 760-836-3215.
