Wildfires scorch southern and central California

A look at the wildfires burning in central and southern California.

Erskine Fire
Authorities said two people who died in the Erskine fire were trying to flee when they were killed.
Sheriff’s officials said the two were outside of their house and overcome with smoke when they died in the massive blaze in the Lake Isabella area.
The fire, which broke out Thursday, has burned over 19,000 acres with zero percent containment.
80 homes are destroyed and 1,500 people are evacuated.

San Gabriel Complex Fire
The fire burning in the San Gabriel mountains is currently 30 percent contained, with over 5,200 acres burned since the two fires ignited on Monday.
The fire was sparked by a vehicle running off the highway.
On Friday all of the evacuated residents were able to return home.

Sherpa Fire
The Sherpa fire burning near Santa Barbara County remains 93 percent contained with over 7,400 acres burned.
