Coroner ID’s 90-year old victim who died in crash in Desert Hot Springs Friday
UPDATE 7/4/16 5:00 p.m. Riverside County Coroner’s Office ID victim as 90-year old Arthur Shine of Desert Hot Springs. According to the Coroner’s Office he died at Desert Regional Medical Center on Sunday from injuries sustained in the crash on Friday.

We now know a 90-year-old man died. The crash happened on the 64600 block of Dillon Road east of North Indian Canyon drive just after 1:00 p.m. Friday.
A woman from Yucca Valley was traveling eastbound on Dillon and the man turned south as he was driving westbound on Dillon. Officers said the woman couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the man’s pickup truck. After being taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in critical condition, the man later died.
Police say the woman suffered only minor injuries.

Dillon Road was shut down from Indian Canyon Drive to Little Morongo Road after a serious head-on crash occurred Friday afternoon.
Officers reopened the road at about 6 p.m. Crews were towing the vehicles away from the scene at 5:30 p.m.
Our crew on scene has learned that two vehicles were involved in the crash and one man, driving a red pickup truck, was taken to the hospital with major injuries. He was taken to the hospital and emerged from his first surgery in critical condition.
A driver in an SUV that collided with a wall wasn’t hurt, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
Authorities responded to the crash around 3 p.m. We’re still working to get more specifics about the crash. Officers don’t know if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash yet as the investigation continues.
