Man severely injures himself with homemade fireworks on 5th of July

A Yucca Valley man was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center the day after the Fourth of July after deputies said he severely injured his arm due to a homemade fireworks explosion.

Deputies were called to the 55000 block of Mountain View Trail on Tuesday at 6:11 a.m. The man was taken to the hospital and detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Bomb/Arson unit arrived to investigate.

Detectives found several homemade fireworks, as well as explosive material needed to make fireworks, according to the release.
