DUI suspected in 7 car pile-up in La Quinta

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies say the driver of a car that ran a red light causing a 7 vehicle pile-up Wednesday night in La Quinta will be charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Deputies say 22-year old Davell Oden was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.

The crash happened about 6:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the intersection of Washington Street and Avenue 50.

Deputies say Oden was driving eastbound on Avenue 50 and failed to stop at a red light.

Oden’s Suburban overturned after hitting another vehicle and both of those vehicles collided with several others.

There are no reports of anyone else being injured in the crash.
