Police search for suspect in Palm Springs drive-by shooting

Police were investigating a drive-by shooting that happened in Downtown Palm Springs Sunday night.

Officers said they got a call about shots fired just before 9:30 p.m. on the 200 block of South Palm Canyon Drive.

They determined three to four shots were fired from a vehicle driving on South Palm Canyon Drive.

Police said one of the rounds hit a glass window at the Village Pub.

“Any gun call is unnerving. We are always on heightened alert especially now while our officers are being targeted and ambushed,” said PSPD Sgt. William Hutchinson.

No injuries were reported.

Officers later located and seized a possible suspect vehicle and possible weapon used in the shooting elsewhere in the the city.

But the suspect ran away and remains wanted.

Investigators are actively working the crime and are seeking witnesses.
