Community gathers at 3rd annual Y Be Fit Challenge

Walkers, runners, triathletes and friends spent their morning at the 3rd annual, Y Be Fit Challenge, hosted by Family YMCA of the Desert. Family YMCA of the Desert’s president, Susie Harvey, said, “We’re all about family, fitness, health and having a good time.” The morning started with a reverse mini-triathlon and 5K run, followed by a 1K color run. Nathan Manderfeld helped coordinate the color run. “I think it’s a great family event where we can get people together on a Sunday morning,” said Manderfeld. The event raised money for Family YMCA of the Desert, who support a number of youth programs in the Valley. The YMCA serves over 3,600 youth and 40 different cites.
