Night Assignment Editor / Digital Content Producer

Do you want to work under sunshine and palm trees? Gulf-California Broadcast Company seeks a full-time Night Assignment Editor / Digital Content Producer.

Duties include: making sure the evening’s news stories are covered, generating hard news enterprise story ideas, making regular beat calls, monitor the news wires and police radios. You will also assist the News Producers in writing and preparing the newscasts on our ABC, CBS and FOX stations. You will also be required to write for the web and help produce continuous coverage online, on our news App and social media. You must be strong at multi-tasking and attentive to even the smallest detail. We’re looking for people with a four-year degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, Communications or related field; you should know the basic rules of Journalism and news gathering; research news stories and prepare news copy for air; work well under pressure and get along with others.
