Police release photo of truck suspected in deadly hit & run crash
Indio police have released a photo of a truck suspected in a deadly hit and run collision on December 29.
Sgt. Dan Marshall said the department realizes the photo is of poor quality, but this is the best authorities were able to enhance it, and now they’re hoping the public might be able to help them locate the suspect.
Witnesses described the truck as gray or silver and it was last seen turning east on Date Avenue. Officers said the truck may be two-tone silver/black.
The hit and run crash occurred on Calhoun Street, south of Taurus Avenue in Indio at 5:31 p.m. The coroner’s office identified the pedestrian killed in the collision as 42-year-old Francisco Zendejas of Indio.
The intersections of Taurus & Calhoun were closed that evening while officers investigated and cleared the scene.
Police are looking for a light colored full size truck with front end damage. If anyone sees the truck or witnessed the crash call 9-1-1 immediately.
