Eastbound I-10 reopens after trailer crashes

A trailer filled with road vehicles rolled over on eastbound I-10 near Whitewater, west of Highway 62, at about 11 a.m. Thursday.

The rollover was affecting traffic on the interstate as the trailer blocked the slow lane, leading to a SIG Alert, according to officers with the California Highway Patrol. All lanes of eastbound I-10 reopened at about 1 p.m.

According to the CHP, only the trailer was involved and nobody was injured in the crash.

There were reports that traffic was backed up to the Whitewater rest area Thursday afternoon.
