Recipient of the month: Big Hearts for Little Hearts Desert Guild
The Big Hearts for Little Hearts (BHLH) Desert Guild is a fundraising arm of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) was founded in 2002 by E. Jane Woolley, MD and The Honorable Shirley N. Pettis Thompson to raise awareness and support LLUCH. Over the past 14 years, the BHLH Desert Guild has raised on excess of $3.4 million to serve this community and its children through action and leadership, emphasizing children’s healthcare needs. The goal of the Desert Guild has always been to provide a support based for the hundreds of Coachella Valley children who seek treatment for serious inpatient and outpatient medical issues at LLUCH each year.
Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital continues the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, focusing on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of children and their families. Through valued professionals, staff, community partners and friends, we seek to enhance the lives of our community’s children by delivering on the promise of a healthier future today.
