Border Patrol arrests man wanted for homicide
El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a 23-year-old Mexican national wanted for homicide after he illegally entered the United States last week.
Authorities said the man illegally entered the U.S. at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12.
The day after his arrest, the El Centro Sector Foreign Operations Branch notified the El Centro Station that the man had an outstanding warrant out of Guanajuato, Mexico for homicide.
The man was turned over to Mexican authorities at 8:30 p.m. that night at the Calexico Port of Entry, agents said in the release.
“It is constant vigilance that enables our hard-working agents to carry out their duties and effect this type of arrest,” said Rodney S. Scott, Chief Patrol Agent.
The El Centro Sector encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to the Border Community Threat Hotline at 1-800-901-2003.
