Felon with hand gun arrested for alleged prowling in Coachella

The Coachella Police Department arrested a felon who was allegedly prowling in the area of Genoa Street early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said an officer saw 25-year-old Edward Sandoval of Coachella at about 1:30 a.m. as he was acting suspicious, standing next to a vehicle parked in a resident’s driveway. When the officer tried to talk to Sandoval, he ran away and jumped a fence into the backyard of the home.

The officer chased after the Sandoval and caught up to him in the backyard.

Sandoval was found in possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia. Officers also found a loaded handgun where Sandoval was initially standing by the parked vehicle, according to a release.
