Sunny Cycle Neighboorhood Tour new addition to Modernism Week

There’s no shortage of activities to take part in during Modernism Week. But there’s one tour in particular that’s getting a lot of attention. The Sunny Cycle Neighborhood Tour is this year’s newest addition.

“We build in a fun component because you’re pedaling, there’s an electric motor that helps transport you throughout the city. And there’s music, misters, flat screen TVs and we try to make it a really entertaining kind of a tour,” said co-owner Shannon Miller.

The tour is a hit with visitors, many of them seeing Palm Springs for the fist time on the bike.

“(I’m excited to see) the sights and sounds of Palm Springs,” said Jimmy Steindecker, who is visiting from New York.

The tour lasts 40 minutes and takes participants to some of the most iconic sights in Palm Springs.

“We go to the Dinah Shore estate. We see where Elizabeth Taylor rented houses with her husband. We show them the church that burned down where the president attended with the first lady. We show them Melvyn’s, we show them Ingleside Inn,” Miller said.

The tour even stops for a treat.

“We stop at 849 or Watercress for refreshment or a little bit of fun and come down Palm Canyon with some music on and it’s very entertaining,” Miller said.

The new tour adds a fun component to get visitors out and about during Modernism Week.
